Home"The Petition": My family has a Sony Trinitron TV (Model Number KV-35V36) that was purchased in 1998. It too, like so many other of these TVs suddenly turned off and died. Over the years, we have bought many Sony products and have had little problems. However, this television "epidemic" is a major issue and one that must be dealt with and solved. Therefore, I propose this; ANYONE WHO HAS/HAD A PROBLEM WITH A SONY TRINITION TV, PLEASE POST YOUR NAME, MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBER ON THIS WEBSITE, WHERE I WILL PLACE THEM ON A PETITION TO BE E-MAILED/MAILED TO SONY. They might be able to ignore one of us, but they can't and WILL NOT ignore all of us. -Thank you

My sony trinitron wega tv just cut off won't come back on. Only had 5 years. I bought this TV many years ago back in 1993. Worked perfectly until 2008 when all of a sudden - no power. I did check the fuse and it is fine. Went to other sites and read that it is usually the "G" board that goes out. Sony doesn't make it anymore either. When they did the part was > $125. Guess it is time to recycle it. Too bad. Picture was amazing even at 15 years old. KV-32TS36 is the model number that I have.....or had now. I have a Sony Trinitron - Kv-32TS36 sn7005007, and it did the same thing to me. It worked well for about 12 years. It just died and has not even powered up. It makes no sednse at all. I hope that something come from this. Thank you for starting this petition. Sony Trinitron, Model:KV-32HS510. I'm so frustrated I will not be buying another Sony again. same thing - tv shuts itself off - after a few hours it happens much more frequenty - an annoying way to have to watch tv in the evening! I have a Sony KV-36HS510 TV that just died. Only lasted 5 years. very expensive set when I bought it. I keep finding information on the web about Sony TVs and their problems with dying TVs. I almost bought a 52" Sony LCD the other day. I'm glad I didn't. Who knows what "bugs" plagues on those sets. 18 June 2008 Have same problem with TV. Purchased Dec. 1997. Had no problems. Very disappointed in Sony. Sony - what a piece of crap - i'll never buy sony again. $1200 37in trinitron bougth 5-6 years ago, dead. Won't turn on - no warning or nothing. Repair man says the lack of juice is a safety feature that something goes wrong (does not have to be the power supply) and the power shuts down so's not to start a fire. $90 to come pick it up $250- $350 to start to fix it - probably more. Off to buy a samsung lcd - no use throwing good money after bad. Well it happened to us last week... My Trinitron KV-35V65 "popped" when my wife went to turn it on, and that was it. NO sound no picture. Just one flashing led that has no pattern other than 17865 times in a row(with a bar over it). This tv has been great for 10 straight years through 6 moves, two marriages and a helluva few good partys and kept on lookin' and soundin' good! I hope I go out in the same way this sony did!!! I'd be mad if mine went on the fritz in 3 or 4 years, but ten???? I think it's work is done.... My Sony Trinitron Wega Model #: KD-36FS130 35inch TV worked perfect for the 3 years I had it. Now all of the sudden it wouldnt work. I would see the power light come on, hear 2 clicks and nothing follows it. I paid about a thousand dollars for it and I know it shouldve lasted longer than this. |
