I have a Sony Trinitron and it has the 9-blink standby light problem. It literally stopped working 5 minutes ago. Any suggestions. I read about some diodes that fry or desolder over time. D6116 and D6301? There on the famous 'g' board. I own a 32" Wega and it worked great - I'm bummed this is a common problem! ~R~

kv-40xbr800 .have it since 2003 paid 2800.+ stand. 07-07-08 blinks 6 times did all trouble shoot with sony. in local repair shop now. 07-18-08 repair shop calls 613.20 total . changed ic ha 2500.+ power regulator. test adjust and delivered back. seems sony should help with paying parts. read alot very common problem thru all models. note my tripplite power surge is fine and tested working. problem with sonys earlier tvs never fixed the problem ,passed to next generation of sets. ray k

Sony Trinitron KV27S10, #8041480 died last night. Age 14. From reading all others, I feel lucky it lasted this long. Tried everything, won't turn on. Happened a few hours after I had unplugged the VCR which was connected to it - coincidence? Will try hair dryer and a couple of hits. Will not repair. Has Sony issued a recall yet? Sorry for everyone's loss. Sony should wake up.

I have a 32" Sony Trinitron television and it is doing the same thing. 1st i go to turn it on and it shuts itself down after about 2 seconds and i dont even get picture, it just stays black.

I have a Sony Trinitron television that i purchased in October of 1996. The model number is kv - 20s10. The serial number is ab20416. My TV screen blacks out every minute or so. This first started happening around three weeks ago. I bought this TV at a Sony store around October 1996. I had to replace the picture tube in 2001 and i had to get it fixed again in 2005. How can I fix this problem ?

Sony Wega KV-24FS120. Shuts itself off after 15 minutes to up to 90 minutes. Then, turns itelf back on, anywhere from 15 minutes on up. We've had the set only two years. BTW--a 30-yr-old Triniton we have is still working! We've always bought Sony's--but this is the last one.
