Sony Trinitron TVs

anonymous Posted Dec 31, 2004

"The Petition":

My family has a Sony Trinitron TV (Model Number KV-35V36) that was purchased in 1998. It too, like so many other of these TVs suddenly turned off and died. Over the years, we have bought many Sony products and have had little problems. However, this television "epidemic" is a major issue and one that must be dealt with and solved. Therefore, I propose this; ANYONE WHO HAS/HAD A PROBLEM WITH A SONY TRINITION TV, PLEASE POST YOUR NAME, MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBER ON THIS WEBSITE, WHERE I WILL PLACE THEM ON A PETITION TO BE E-MAILED/MAILED TO SONY. They might be able to ignore one of us, but they can't and WILL NOT ignore all of us. -Thank you

My Sony Trinitron purchased in 1999 suddenly went black. I have perfect sound and no picture. The fuses seem fine. Have no clue whats going on. No more Sony

My KV-27s40 is approximately 10 years old. Yesterday, the picture went black and I noticed the stand-by light (fault code) blinking in 4 sequences. I cannot get the picture to appear even after unplugging and an attempted restart. I will have to buy a new flat panel (LCD), not a SONY.

I always buy sony products because they are usually great from camcorders, digital cameras,stereos,tvs,etc.. I have a sony trinitron kv32s10 one day I turned it on and it only clicked and the red light blinks continuously,no picture or sound.I am very disappointed by this and my last purchase was a sharp 52" tv.

We have a Sony Trinitron KV-32TS36 TV that has just gone out. The TV was on and working just fine but then it went off and has never come back on. There are no blinking lights or sounds made - just totally dead. I thought maybe my son had done something to it until I read these comments. Anyway, our TV has lasted longer than everyone who has commented here. We bought it in 1992 or 1993 and it has worked great, with a great picture for all that time. (The only problem was with the front A/V plug not working after about 5 years.) I still think Sony should address this issue for those with TVs that are not as old. I have always liked Sony, but am wary of getting another one since they don't seem to take care of their customers.
