Home"The Petition": My family has a Sony Trinitron TV (Model Number KV-35V36) that was purchased in 1998. It too, like so many other of these TVs suddenly turned off and died. Over the years, we have bought many Sony products and have had little problems. However, this television "epidemic" is a major issue and one that must be dealt with and solved. Therefore, I propose this; ANYONE WHO HAS/HAD A PROBLEM WITH A SONY TRINITION TV, PLEASE POST YOUR NAME, MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBER ON THIS WEBSITE, WHERE I WILL PLACE THEM ON A PETITION TO BE E-MAILED/MAILED TO SONY. They might be able to ignore one of us, but they can't and WILL NOT ignore all of us. -Thank you

Same thing. I have a Trinitron KV-32HS510. VERY hard to get it to come on if you can get it to come on at all. I am going to try to contact Sony but after reading all of these complaints, it would seem that Sony would have no choice but to institute a recall. A neighbor gave me a Sony Trinatron 35" 1998 TV cuz it stopped working. Said one day it just stopped turning on. So he gave it to me and said keep it and good luck getting it fixed. Well, I called a few buddies over, to get it up the stairs of course, heavy.... whew.... We took the back off, cleared out the dust. Found the fuse, went and bought a $0.25 fuse at radio shack. Put it in, boom, back to normal, great picture... Just like new... Don't know whether to sell it or keep it. It's heavy but nice picture and only cost a quarter to fix... Maybe everyone on here should atleast check the fuse... It's a start and could fix your problem.. My television all of the sudden stopped working. The model is Kv-32S15. The Serial number is 7100481. i have a sony 32" model number KV-32S20 bought in 1996 and it went out without notice.i was sitting watching sportscenter and it went off no warning what so ever. Yesterday I turned my TV on: nothing. No picture, no sound, just a red power light. It is a KV-2626R model, old I know, but it was working great until now! I got this TV from a friend for $50 about 10 years ago. I have definitely gotten my $50 worth, but would still love to salvage the TV. Maybe a fuse? Any suggestions? SONY KV40XBR800 flash's 6 time's wont power up ??? April 25th 2008 my 10 year old Sony Triniton died. RIP. Have tried all the advice given on this forum but it now resides out in the garage awaiting the inorganic collection, what a rip off. Was set to buy a 32" Bravia LCD but after reading this petition will not touch the brand. It is too much of a coincidence that all these TV's have stopped around the 7-8 years age mark. Will try for a panasonic perhaps. Not really worth spending large amounts of money on a faulty product. Model Number KV-35V36 Same as everyone else - one day picture and sound went out - blinking stand by light on front - nothing worked ever again. Model# KV35S42 Went on the blink last nite, good sound no picture, Tried turning the screen adjustment to no avail. TV comes on from a cold start, lasts about a minute then black screen, will not turn back on unless you let it set a minute or so, but then it only comes on for another minute. I should have just bought a cheap TV probably would have lasted as long. I guess the old saying "Ya get what ya pay for" no longer applies. I have a Sony FD Trinitron WEGA, model KV-30HS510, SN 8008212, purchased in December 2003. This morning it wouldn't turn on, all the correct sounds were made, but no picture. The standby light would blink 7 times. I read through these comments, and tried the hair dryer trick. It took a couple times hitting the power button after that, the first time the screen flashed, then nothing but clicks a few times, then finally it turned on. Now I'm thinking I'm going to leave it in an unused video position for my "off mode". |
