Home"The Petition": My family has a Sony Trinitron TV (Model Number KV-35V36) that was purchased in 1998. It too, like so many other of these TVs suddenly turned off and died. Over the years, we have bought many Sony products and have had little problems. However, this television "epidemic" is a major issue and one that must be dealt with and solved. Therefore, I propose this; ANYONE WHO HAS/HAD A PROBLEM WITH A SONY TRINITION TV, PLEASE POST YOUR NAME, MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBER ON THIS WEBSITE, WHERE I WILL PLACE THEM ON A PETITION TO BE E-MAILED/MAILED TO SONY. They might be able to ignore one of us, but they can't and WILL NOT ignore all of us. -Thank you

My Sony Trinitron Wega of 6 yrs olds was turning off right after I turned it on, so I thought it was dead forever. I called 2 different repair shops. The first one said that it might cost a couple of hundred dollars and I might want to put that money into another set. The second shop told me that this tv was the last of the good tv's made and it would be worth repairing. He said the newer flat screens were only lasting 3 to 5 yrs. Well, I didn't know what to do. I didn't have the money for a new set and I hated putting money into this set. So I googled the problem and came to this site and read about the hair dryer trick. Well, to my amazement it worked after 2 clicks of turning the power button on and off and holding the dryer on the back right side. I can't believe this, how did anyone figure this out. Whoever you are, I want to thank you so much. I have been laid off for 18 months and my husband had hernia surgery this past Friday and we didn't have the money for a new set or for repairs on this one. You made my day with this knowledge!!!! We have been a week without our tv and so glad we have it back now. Thanks again! Brenda My trinitron has joined the off again/ on again video club whether we are watching tv, dvd player, on demand, or video games but I have noticed that if I turn on the cable tv guide where you can still watch your program in the small corner screen it will not black out. I watched the whole 7 overtime innings of a Phillies game like that without a single loss of my picture. It wasn't the 32" picture I paid for but I didn't miss a play. I wonder why this would make a difference? Sony trinitron kv27S10 serial 7097609. Bought around 1998 lasted 5-6 years turned black and shut off in the middle of a show, hasn't worked since. Bought a Mitsubishi, but have held onto the Sony with the hope that I would find a solution. I have a sony 40" trintron model which just started in standby mode and blinking seven times.I purchase this tv in 2003. We have a KV-35V35, it shut it's self down, will not turn... it was marketed, as best tv, ever made, so they didn't give it to us... I bought Sony Trinitron Model No KV-XR29M50 ON 24th January 2004 now its not turning on. I called Sony person for repair he said it will cost 4500 rupees for the repair. But he will not give guarantee for the part. I don't know whether repair it or not. I have a Sony KV 40XBR800. Loved the picture untill I experienced a problem that seems so many are having with these tv's. Tried turning it on one day and would not. Got 6 blinks at first, then started to get 7 blinks. Looks like from what I read it's the mxz3001d that needs replacing. Sony should just replace these boards for free, but first correct the problem with them. Lots of people spent thousands on these to get just a few years out of them. What a waste! The chips are cheap, but the labor is not. The sad part is I'll probably be throwing it out. I own a KV-40XBR800 that has very low hours on it. I am receiving the same 6-blinking standby light that everyone else is citing. I am surprised that in spite of this being such an obvious problem that Sony has decided to no longer make replacement D-Boards requiring the existing one to be serviced. I am not very pleased about this. My Sony quit working to. It's only 8 years old. I found a web site where there are thousands of people who has Sony TV'S that quit working. What's wrong with this, when a major TV manufacturer such as Sony (who charges top dollar for their tv's) and have such a design flaw, where their tv's quit working only after a few years, can get away with this in any way shape or form. How can this problem be so bad on thousands of Sony tv's and nobody (not even the U.S. Government) will do anything about it. I used to buy everything Sony for years and years. I will never buy anything Sony again. This is BULL_ _ _ _. Model Number : KV-34XBR800 Serial Number : 8008470 my sony trinitron kv-35s40 ,, suddenly start blicking on and off and hasnt stopped since.. i tried everything nothing works called sony they have no clue........ also the channel appears in the top corner kv-35s40 serial number 9053584 |
