Home"The Petition": My family has a Sony Trinitron TV (Model Number KV-35V36) that was purchased in 1998. It too, like so many other of these TVs suddenly turned off and died. Over the years, we have bought many Sony products and have had little problems. However, this television "epidemic" is a major issue and one that must be dealt with and solved. Therefore, I propose this; ANYONE WHO HAS/HAD A PROBLEM WITH A SONY TRINITION TV, PLEASE POST YOUR NAME, MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBER ON THIS WEBSITE, WHERE I WILL PLACE THEM ON A PETITION TO BE E-MAILED/MAILED TO SONY. They might be able to ignore one of us, but they can't and WILL NOT ignore all of us. -Thank you

i want 2 have d schmeatic diagram for 21" sony t.v.ty My Sony Trinitron kv-35s40 just started to Blink on and off now...I'm trying to find out how to fix it... I had the same problem since this morning i could hear the sound but the picture wouldnt come up, however i gave it a few hits (out of anger) and while i was at the back of it, it suddenly started flickering and then stopped. I feel like its going to give up soon though. These Trinitrons seem to be.... I have the same problem with the screen blinking on and off continually on my KV32S36 which I have had for about 10 years - paid a lot of money for what was supposed to be the best tv at the time - contacted Sony via live chat and was just told it "seems to be an internal malfunction" and that I would have to get it repaired- well repairing a tv costs more today than just buying one - I will not be buying another Sony. I have a G.E. television which I would expect not to last very long which is now 12 years old and still works beautifully - and the G.E. didn't even cost half as much as the Trinitron. Go figure. I wish it was just an easy fix, though as I really can't afford to buy another television, but when I do, it won't be a Sony. I have a Sony Trinitron KV32S16 and purchased it in 1998 or 1999 as well, the picture has always been beautiful and I had not had any problems until Dec 25th of 2007. The picture either goes out and leaves a bluish black picture with sound or it turnes into lines at the top of the screen. I have always been happy with all Sony products and am very disappointed at this TV that I paid almost $1000 for is already having problems. I too know many people with TV's of different brands that are still going strong after more than 15 years. I do hope Sony will respond to these problems, so that I can continue to purchase their products.. There are many other brands out there and I will find another brand to be loyal to, and to recommend if Sony does not take care of their loyal customers. Thanks My KV 32TS36 ser # 7025696 did same thing. Just stopped working and now can't be turned on. Good TV but now going to have to scrap. Found this website while looking for advice on how to fix. I have a flat screen 36" and the on/off switch only intermittently allows the TV to kick on. Is this the same as your TV's dieing problem? If you were able to correct your problem, how was it accomplished? I have had similar problems with my 35" Trinitron. Used to be able to turn it on and off and the picture would come back. Now I have had to smack the back of the set while it's off, then power it on and the picture will come back. The note about the sweep circuit sounds interesting because the screen sometimes slides to a thin line then expands, then goes off. Just found this sight when looking for answers. My sony model kv32s40 turns on but no picture. C'mon I paid alot of money for this tv and it should last more than 8 years!! I'm sorry to hear that others have this problem, but very glad to see that I'm not going crazy! We bought a Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV-24FS120 24" TV less than 3 years ago. It takes absolutely no abuse, and is in a spare bedroom getting minimal use. A few months ago, it started turning itself on and off randomly when I was the only one in the house. It got to the point that I had to unplug it because I would come home from work and it would be blasting, or turn on in the middle of the night and wake us up. Now, it doesn't even turn on any more and has become nothing more than a very heavy paperweight! After reading these other posts about costs for an 'iffy' repair, I think I'd prefer to put the money toward a newer set. It's a real shame because the picture was nice while it worked! This has definitely turned me off to buying another Sony because they obviously are aware of this defect and will not stand behind their products. Grow up, Sony, start acting responsibly, and prevent your reputation from being tarnished! Consumers are losing respect because of your failure to admit to a problem, not because of the problem itself! Is having so many unhappy customers spread their stories really worth the minimal amount of money it would cost you to repair these sets? |
