I have a Sony Trinitron KV32S16 and purchased it in 1998 or 1999 as well, the picture has always been beautiful and I had not had any problems until Dec 25th of 2007. The picture either goes out and leaves a bluish black picture with sound or it turnes into lines at the top of the screen. I have always been happy with all Sony products and am very disappointed at this TV that I paid almost $1000 for is already having problems. I too know many people with TV's of different brands that are still going strong after more than 15 years. I do hope Sony will respond to these problems, so that I can continue to purchase their products.. There are many other brands out there and I will find another brand to be loyal to, and to recommend if Sony does not take care of their loyal customers. Thanks
