Home"The Petition": My family has a Sony Trinitron TV (Model Number KV-35V36) that was purchased in 1998. It too, like so many other of these TVs suddenly turned off and died. Over the years, we have bought many Sony products and have had little problems. However, this television "epidemic" is a major issue and one that must be dealt with and solved. Therefore, I propose this; ANYONE WHO HAS/HAD A PROBLEM WITH A SONY TRINITION TV, PLEASE POST YOUR NAME, MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBER ON THIS WEBSITE, WHERE I WILL PLACE THEM ON A PETITION TO BE E-MAILED/MAILED TO SONY. They might be able to ignore one of us, but they can't and WILL NOT ignore all of us. -Thank you

kv-32hs500 /won't turn on.the,red,stand-by light, blinks 7 times.if left unpluged over-night[sometimes longer]the !! TV WILL COME ON !! IF LEFT UNPLUGED FOR MONTH ,,TV WILL WORK FINE ,, FOR ABOUT A WEEK! .... SOUNDS LIKE A RELAY i also have an older sony trinitron that will have sound and no picture.,,,,,but hit the bottom of the stand[right under the tv]HARD a few times, and then turn on.when it tries to go out, keep hitting till it stays on.if the picture goes all black, you'll need to start over,[off,/hit,/on,/hit,hit,hit,/,,then leave on forever,/don't turn off,/turn sound down and turn to ch. with no singnal,so it look's like it is off. this is a true story. i did this for months,,,,, L.O.L.. I purchased a Sony Trinitron model # KV-32V26 in 1998. Today it just died and will not turn back on. Tried everything - it is dead! This is discouraging. I thought Sony's TV's were the best and expected them to last longer than 10 years!!!! I have a Sony KV-27FS100 TV. Turned it off for 30 minutes and now it will not come back on. Standby/timer light is flashing and tv sounds like it wants to come on but nothing. Very disappointed in this Sony product. TV is only 5 years old. I have other TV's that are much older with no problems. I don't think I will buy anything Sony again! Im glad to find this site and see Im not alone. My expensive sony 35" trinitron lost the picture a few month back and started to get the blicking light syndrome.call sony and was told basically it was from excessive use. ya right turning it on off.I just got a call today from my parents and guess what happen to there 5 yr old TRINITRON you guessed it right the blicking light /no picture syndrome. This will be my last sony product that i bring into my home. Why no recall ?????? I have LOTS of company i see!I have the same problem with my SONY #9017243. I read 20 pages of the same complaints. Sony owes us! Class action suit sound due. TV does not turn on and red light blinks 9 times no picture no sound...out of the blue. TV barely used and i paid ALOT for it at Sears. It is so unfair. SONY is ripping us off. Please make it right. 36" kv35v36 new 1997... The black screen of death. power supply problems. Had it repaired once (transistors on power supply board), lasted a week and dead again. This time a loud SNAP. Has a great picture when it has a picture. Same decision as everyone else. Keep screwing around and throwing money at it until it maybe finally gets fixed by deduction? or buy a flat screen and save the grief. From what I am reading here and from some of the techs that refuse to work on them, I don't believe I would buy another sony product of any kind. No support, post warranty. You bought it, you drive it and when it pukes, you park it forever. tv won't turn on anymore...sony trinitron-- blinks repeatedly--- not that old. Whoa - 19 pages of problems - guess Sony really is in it just for the money. Same problem - TV stopped working the other night. Bought in 2004. Red light blinks, it clicks like it's going to start up but refuses. I have a 26" Sony I bought 17 years ago that works perfectly and a Panasonic 66" that was purchased 15 years ago - perfect. But not Sony. Cost me over $1200. Add to that the surround system that died 1 week after the warranty expired - found a website with literally hundreds of people - same problem, same system. Won't buy a Sony product ever again. They won't admit to a fault - though it seems pretty obvious. Sony Trinitron Model Number: KV-40XBR800 The unit won't turn on. It blinks a couple times, and taunts me with a noise as if it's going to switch on, however it does not. It's driving me crazy! My TV is a TINITRON SONY KV-32S42, Serie No. 8201263 TV turn of and off the disply. Thanks. |
