Home"The Petition": My family has a Sony Trinitron TV (Model Number KV-35V36) that was purchased in 1998. It too, like so many other of these TVs suddenly turned off and died. Over the years, we have bought many Sony products and have had little problems. However, this television "epidemic" is a major issue and one that must be dealt with and solved. Therefore, I propose this; ANYONE WHO HAS/HAD A PROBLEM WITH A SONY TRINITION TV, PLEASE POST YOUR NAME, MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBER ON THIS WEBSITE, WHERE I WILL PLACE THEM ON A PETITION TO BE E-MAILED/MAILED TO SONY. They might be able to ignore one of us, but they can't and WILL NOT ignore all of us. -Thank you

I have a Sony Trinitron. When I turn it on, it automatically turns off. I tried unplugging it but it still doesn't work. I thought it was on a timer so I left it on and sometimes it automatically goes on. What's the remedy? We have a Trinitron KV-29LS60B 100 Hz., with the exact same problem. Suddenly turns off to standby and stays there, power led blinking green till you turn it off for a long while. It has to be unplugged from the socket, pushing the power button off does not work, and must be left alone for a long while ( a couple hours at least). This phenomenon has been increasing its frequency since it first happen and lately, it does it from the very early morning when my kid wants to watch cartoons, so we are assuming it will die anytime. The TV was bought back in 2003 but kept it in its box, unused till 2 years ago (June 2007), so is unbelievable such an expensive set has this issue ( till lately, is hardly been on, my kid is 4 now and starting to like cartoons and the console. We live in a cold & highly humid area -above 70% most of the time). I can't believe we paid over $1000 for this piece of junk!. Getting a technician home is $94, plus the repair, which has only 3 months warranty. A flat screen anything but Sony sounds pretty good to me right now. Sony must do acknowledge the problem and do something to compensate the consumers, or I'll personally will never buy other Sony item. 52" Sony FD Trinitron WEGA won't turn on, dead. Purchased in 2000. For a repairman to come to my house, the cost is $85, plus parts and labor. From reading other emails, seems repairmen can't help this problem. Any advice?? I too have a Sony KV32v36 manufactured June 1997 and it just went black yesterday! ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH We purchased a sony triniton telivision in 2004 and it just died on us last night. model # KV-34HS510. Now it wont even turn on. Sony KV27V20. Just happened. I have sound and no picture with red standby light blinking. I have tried almost everything to get picture without luck. Sony tech. help said blinking light means something is wrong - insert N. S. S. here! By reading some of the other comments I guess 12 years is really good for a Sony. To compair....... I have a 20" JVC that is 30 years old and still works! My Sony Trinitron KV 35V36 would not turn on on 5-6-09 in the p.m. The red stand by/ timer light blinks but will not turn engage the screen. Sound runs directly through my Theatre sound system via the sat box, as does the VHS (Also Sony). The T.V. has white noise sound, i.e. when running through the tv/video button. Here's the pertinant info: Sony Trinitron KV 35V36 Manufacture date: October 1997 Serial # 9028812 Perchased from: Sears in Santa Clarita, Ca. It worked like a dream and one day I turned it off - never to come back on. Why is that? my sony FD Trinitron WEGA has just developed the symptoms every one is describing. Will not turn on. Stand by lite keeps blinking. I bought it in 2003. If you get anything done I would like to be included. Thanks for your concern for others. I just had this happen no picture, I still have sound.....if I turn it off and on sometimes I get a picture for about 20 seconds then it fades........very frutrating as I have always had good experiences with Sony in the past |
