Model KV-32S40 Ser # 8107572 No picture, got sound, no flashing red light. Worked for 4 years. Quality product Sony. Not! I have a 47" Philips LCD now. Much better than the Sony.

I bought my Sony Trintron(Wega)a little 7 years ago. And I have the same problem as everyone else. My TV will not come on, the red stand by just flashes red. It clicks like it wants to come but never does. I've had this problem since November 2008. After hours and days of trying my TV would eventually come on. Now it won't come on at all since my nephew accidently turned it off. I'm on a budget so I wasn't in a rush to get another TV just yet, but it seems I may have to. I will never buy another defective Sony television set again!

I To Have A Sony Triniton Built In 1990, My Son Gave Me, I Have Had It 1 Month And The First WeeK It Barely Worked When It Came On It had A Great Picture And All The Functions Worked. But It Started To Shut It Self Off, But I Found That By Pulling The Plug In And Out. It Would Come Back On For A While. Then After The End Of The Week, It Quite Working Entirely. I have a 32" Sony Trinitron purchased 1998. Same old story. Great picture until now. Watching tv tonight and shut off by itself. Could not power back on. Red light blinks constantly until I shut the power off again. No picture or sound. Sony should recall this situation and make good on customer service. (conspiracy theory: they knew this would happen just about the time when expensive flat screen tv's would be the ONLY option to replace the malfunctioning ones)

kv35v36: purchased 1998, died 2005 Started with blanking picture, then none. kv36fs200: manufactured Oct 2002- as of 2008 will not power on. Sony authorized repair will not even touch the older model, the 2002 model is 250lbs requiring in home visit at a minimum of 150 just to look, probable cause stated is failed D-board with replacement part costing 250. I'm sorry but a $400 repair after 5 years of service is UNACCEPTABLE for a unit that cost so much initially. Sony used to be a name I trusted which was why I was willing to bear the expense of the original purchase with the thought that the value of its product life would be worth it, but seeing the list of what clearly points to some lazy manufacturing or cutting corners means that the next product I buy will probably be a Samsung instead. A petition this large that goes unanswered ought to be a class action suit instead.

My Television is a Sony Trinitron Wega Color TV Model #KV-32HS510. It turns on only when it feels that I am worthy of watching it. It when it decides, it gives me a "time out" in which it will make the sound of turning on and immediately the sound of turning off. This will go on for a few days and then I will be forgiven for a short time and it will turn on again. The serial # is 8089079 and I purchased it in the mid 2005 year.

I have a Sony WEGA FD Triniton model # KV-32HS420. The picture on the screen appears as if you are watching an infared television. I took the TV to a Sony authorized service shop where they informed me it would be $460.00 to replace the Digital Board. That's half of what I paid for the TV only 3 years ago. I called Sony and they are not willing to help me out in any way. I have purchased many Sony products in the past, but I can guarantee I will NEVER purchase another Sony product again if they don't make this right. I cannot afford to buy a new TV every 3 years. Jeff
