Home"The Petition": My family has a Sony Trinitron TV (Model Number KV-35V36) that was purchased in 1998. It too, like so many other of these TVs suddenly turned off and died. Over the years, we have bought many Sony products and have had little problems. However, this television "epidemic" is a major issue and one that must be dealt with and solved. Therefore, I propose this; ANYONE WHO HAS/HAD A PROBLEM WITH A SONY TRINITION TV, PLEASE POST YOUR NAME, MODEL AND SERIAL NUMBER ON THIS WEBSITE, WHERE I WILL PLACE THEM ON A PETITION TO BE E-MAILED/MAILED TO SONY. They might be able to ignore one of us, but they can't and WILL NOT ignore all of us. -Thank you

The picture on my KV-35v36 just stopped coming on. The sound is there, by the picture tube remains black. I turned it off at 5:00 AM in the morning, and it was fine. I turned it back on around 12 hours later and there was no picture. I am hooked-up to DishTV, which works fine on 3 other TVs in the house. I see that this seems to be a common problem with this TV (and other SONYs). Have you gotten any response from SONY? Merry Christmas as my trinitron has decided it needs the holiday off. We are experiencing the same thing. Turned the tv on today do watch a holiday movie and puff - there went the picture. Yes, I have the flashing standby light, great sound but no picture. This really stinks! Christmas gift in 1997. KV-27V36 - #8016735. Tried the hair dryer trick - no luck. Any other suggestions? I really liked the picture and color on this and really can't swing the new LCD version - of any brand. Thanks for your petition! My Sony trinitron has the same problem. It turns on and then suddenly the picture goes out but the sound is fine. After banging on the thing for awhile it may come back on. When it is on it works great. I wonder if this problem has a fix that I can repair at home as it doen't pay to take it in at this point. If anyone has a fix please reply to schroeder6061@hotmail.com. I have a KV34XBR910 4 years old that i paid 2300 for .Stoped turning on yesterday and blinks 6 times, will not come back on. I also have a KV32HS500 5 years old that i paid 650 for.Stopped turning on last month and blinks 6 times, will not come back on. I cant beleive that sony can get away with taking advantage of so many people like this .I just get by finatialy ,I saved and saved and saved to buy these tvs for my family thinking that i was investing in a quality product that would last a good 10 years. Now we have no tv and probably wont for some time,so with that being said me my wife and my three children would like to thank you Sony! I have a Sony Trinitron 27", the serial number is 21240. I cannot find the model number anywhere on it. It is not on the front, back, or bottom of the TV. It has worked perfect for the last 5-7 years. Last week while watching it, the picture and audio just went out. I talked to a TV repairman and he said it is probably in the electronics. $100.00 for house call and about $200.00 to fix it. Said it might be better to go to Wal-Mart and get a Samsung LCD and a good surge suppressor. I HAVE A SONY TRINITRON MODEL NUMBER KV-2675R PURCHACED IN 1985. I TURNED THE TV ON THE OTHER DAY IT CAME ON THEN CUT RIGHT BACK OFF IT WILL NOT COME BACK ON I HAVE CHECKED THE SONY WEB SITE AND THERE IS NO HELP FOR ME TO GET THE TV FIXED Okay, I'm joining the group! My SONY TRINITRON TV purchased August 1998 just all of a sudden turned off with no warning and I can't power it back up, it's just dead. What the heck. Model #KV-32V26 S/N A802823, manufactured March 1998 in Tijuana, Mexico. I have a KV32XBR400, and when I try to turn it on the "standby" light flashes and the tv looks like it wants to turn on, but then nothing. For a while, the second time I'd try to turn it on it would work. I think the power supply warmed up or something. But now... nothing. Bought this tv 6 years ago. I have a Sony tv I purchased 13 years ago that still works great... but this one was much more expensive and it died way too soon. SONY KV-32XBR400 TV purchased 8 years ago. suddenly no picture, still has sound, can change channel. Now I have to doubt the quality of SONY products. M. Shah New Jersey |
