Home | Previous messageHello I have the Cybershot DSC-T1 and got the error E:61.00. Since Sony is so expensive to repair, I decided to buy another camera. However, after reading the crazy solution offered by some in this forum, I thought what do I have to lose... So I banged the lense with my finger while the camera was off and it did not work. I then decided to drop it while off, on a soft rug and did not work either. Finally, I thought, what the heck, and turned it on. While it was "accessing" I banged the lense on my knee cap (it did not hurt and got rid of some of my frustration). The error message was gone!!! and I was able to focus, use the lense and take picutures!!!. Thanks for this Flinstone solution. Pepito

My knee worked as wel!!!!! At risk of sounding repetitive i also tried this and works perfectly again now! Thank you for your help! Cheers, James Mine just got the same problem. I accidentally dropped my camera on the sand few weeks ago and today I got the error 61. I did exactly the light tapping on the knee as i power on or off the camera. Did a few tries. The first one did not do the trick. But the 4th or 5th time did. So far it's working. It's worth trying. Thanks. It workz.. It workz... I also tried it while it was off and i banged it but it did not work. I tried to do it while it was accessing turning it on and i banged it and it worked.. What ever you guys do dont take it to Sony for repairs try this and i'm telling you it works! Thank you all for the input !! Thank you thank you!!! Oh my God! I did what seem like crazy ...bang it, drop it from 2' to the carpet floor, bang it again while it is accessing like you said....I heard some weird sound coming out of the camera...it did not work...I bang it again...I heard some more sound and then ...the sound stop...and...IT WORK! THE FOCUS IS PERFECTLY FINE AS BEFORE! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I love the internet ;-) My sony Cyber-shot suffered an absolutely HORRENDOUS fall onto a concrete floor whilst in a drunken rampage on holiday, but suprisingly it managed to stay in one piece. However, it had the E:61:00, and was horiffically out of focus and the zoom mechanics were completely frozen. So I get home and google this error and find myself here. Tried the knee thing, many times, didnt work. So in one last furious attempt to get it working, I pick it up by the string and swing it into the wall (with quite a damn bit of force might i add), and abracadabra its working almost perfectly again. Unfortunately, I now have to carry out this procedure every time I turn the camera on, because the bloody thing keeps on reverting back to being blurred. The knee cap trick worked like a dream! The easiest $400 I have ever made. Thanks! My 7 years old P50 died with E:61 code on our last day of vacation in Hawaii. I thougt its time for a new one anyway. But after reading this thread, I decided to give it a try, nothing to loose. THUPM!!! ---- No still E61 THUUUUPM !!! ----- stilll E61 THUUUUPPPPPM !!! ----- stilll E61 THUUUUUUUUPPPPPPPM ---- E61 gone :))) WOW !!!! its alive, frankensine is back to life from dead!!! Its bloody marvellously unreal!!! I never had an electronic gadget fixed by slapping !!! But you learn something new everyday. THANKS for the TIPS. i can't belivable it really works, i drop my camera that way you said.....and hahahahahhahahha my focus it's fine again....thanks man I was excited at first when I saw your post, then thought, my luck, it will not be the solution for my camera (skeptic of the Flinstone method)... but now I have a working digital camera! I have had it in my drawer the past year because of this error... WOW. Quick bang on the buffet table and im off to the beach with my backup who cares if I get sand in it camera! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, from California! |
