Mine just got the same problem. I accidentally dropped my camera on the sand few weeks ago and today I got the error 61. I did exactly the light tapping on the knee as i power on or off the camera. Did a few tries. The first one did not do the trick. But the 4th or 5th time did. So far it's working. It's worth trying. Thanks.
