SONY Cybershot E:61:00 ERROR

Pepito Posted Jun 13, 2006, in response to:anonymous

Hello I have the Cybershot DSC-T1 and got the error E:61.00. Since Sony is so expensive to repair, I decided to buy another camera. However, after reading the crazy solution offered by some in this forum, I thought what do I have to lose... So I banged the lense with my finger while the camera was off and it did not work. I then decided to drop it while off, on a soft rug and did not work either. Finally, I thought, what the heck, and turned it on. While it was "accessing" I banged the lense on my knee cap (it did not hurt and got rid of some of my frustration). The error message was gone!!! and I was able to focus, use the lense and take picutures!!!. Thanks for this Flinstone solution. Pepito

Amazing and thanks. Took some time as I did not want to start with a huge drop but dropped it probably 3 feet or so after 10min plus of trying everything else and it works like a charm.

Hello! Thanks for the tip. It's unbelievable. I have a camera cyber-shot DSC-H10 also showed that the error E: 61:00. I disconnected the camera and knocked lightly with two fingers on the lens. And she returned to work perfectly. Very good. Adenaule - Brazil

    Hi P,
Same problem here. Tried all the correct procedures and no success. Dropped from about two feet on to carpet as a last resource! Bingo, back to normal, even corrected a close focus problem I have had for some time.

Thanks everyone for this odd tip!

    Regards
