Home | Previous messageHello I have the Cybershot DSC-T1 and got the error E:61.00. Since Sony is so expensive to repair, I decided to buy another camera. However, after reading the crazy solution offered by some in this forum, I thought what do I have to lose... So I banged the lense with my finger while the camera was off and it did not work. I then decided to drop it while off, on a soft rug and did not work either. Finally, I thought, what the heck, and turned it on. While it was "accessing" I banged the lense on my knee cap (it did not hurt and got rid of some of my frustration). The error message was gone!!! and I was able to focus, use the lense and take picutures!!!. Thanks for this Flinstone solution. Pepito

Guys, you are amazing, it works. my tip for those who are still trying is: don't give up. it took us 15min of constant effort to do it. what worked for us is using the remote control to bang it on the side and on the lens itself. my model is DSC T70. Thanks guys, you just saved me 300$ :) Omar I banged repeatedly in the suggested manner and couldn't quite get it to work. Then I finally realized where an old impact point was in the corner, and I could see that squeezing from top to bottom would eliminate the eerie noise during the "Accessing" (squeezing from side to side in my case clearly made it worse). Anyway, I then tried twisting the camera in a couple orientations, and somehow that finally did the trick! Thank you very much for your help. I found a website which wanted to charge me for the privilege of telling me an answer to my question, so told them where to go! happened upon your question and the replies and solved the problem with a quick tap on the side of the camera! Brilliant thanks everyone I can't believe it..thank you so much for these crazy tips that really do work!! I've been thumping mine on my knee cap, floor, dropping it from a height and still E61 flashing, until I threw it over to one of my kids sitting across the room, he dropped it...and hey presto.... I dont believe this man! Worked for me as well. I thought i would miss taking a lot of important pictures till i found a guy to repait my camera. Is this only for the Japenese ones? Lol I had the same problem. Camera would not auto focas and the lense would not go back into the camera. Called Sony and it would be $121 to fix. Called Beat Buy and was quoted $200. Tech said it happens to all the digital cameras. Googled the error message. Read the first result and tried knocking the camera on my knee. nothting. while booting up tapped it on my desk. Low and behold the autofucas worked and so did the zoom. thanks to everyone for posting this on the web. Joey Dropping on the desk worked great!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE THE FLINSTONE SOLUTION. Worked great. Just used the palm of my hand when it was off. Wish I had know this before I sold my last one for parts on eBay. I have the Sony Cybershot T70 and I had a similar problem, the e61:00. After reading the responses on here and a few other sites I tried banging it on my knee, but that didn't work, so then I just hit it on the palm of my hand a few times and it worked! I was apprehensive to try but knew I wouldn't hit it too hard and it was worth a shot. Thanks for the help! Worked for me. I tried after reading so many posts. Thanks a lot. Now I have my camera back... |
