I banged repeatedly in the suggested manner and couldn't quite get it to work. Then I finally realized where an old impact point was in the corner, and I could see that squeezing from top to bottom would eliminate the eerie noise during the "Accessing" (squeezing from side to side in my case clearly made it worse). Anyway, I then tried twisting the camera in a couple orientations, and somehow that finally did the trick!
