I have DSC F707, MEMORY STICK ERROR, C:13:01. I called the tech support (1-888-449-SONY, 24/7) After a few minutes chatting with a computer (yes, you catually talk to the computer) I finally got a live person who instructed me to turn ON the camera, press the MENU button and format my memory stick. Now, I know this is not how one would go about formatting a memory stick, but I nevertheless followed his directions. I turned the camera ON, and pressed the MENU button in the "Record Still Images" Mode (that's the one with a picture of a camera), and suddenly it started working. I don't know how, why, etc. but it started working, all my pictures were still on the momry stick unharmed. I post my "experience" due to the mysterious nature of the problem and not because I belive that pressing the MENU button will solve anything.

I also have this error on my Sony Mavica CD300 camera that I paid a TON for! This camera has the mini-CD in it. It makes a horrible loud grinding noise and then the R/W icon flashes and the error number shows up and I have to shut the camera down. Does anyone know what causes this error? Thanks - Rita.

Hey Everyone! So I was looking all over the internet b/c I have this error, c:13:01, too. Initally, I had thought to format the memory stick too on my computer. The first time I formatted the stick, nothing happened and still had the error. I tryed again, still nothing. The third time, I noticed that there are to different File Systems: FAT32 and FAT. The first two formats were at FAT32. The third format at did was FAT. This fixed my error and hopefully will fix all of yours. Goodluck!

For Fix the Problem C:13:01 ERROR Step by Step: 1) Please insert the Memory stick into Card Reader or PC Slot 2) Identify what is the Letter Asigned by the Computer( D: or E: or H: or Whatever) 3) Please Click in "Start" button and Look for The command "RUN" 4) It show you a small windows with small box to type commands. 5) Please type "CMD" whithout semicolons. 6) it will open a Black Box or Prompt Windows.. 7) it show you in the black screen the cursor blinking. (c:\documents and settings\Your Username\_ 8) Type there: Format H: /FS:FAT /A:8192 9) H: is my Letter assigned to my USB by my System. Replace with your assigned letter. The important part /A:8192 it means the cluster size compatible with the memory stick reader into the camera.

I got the great DISK ERROR today and did the format thing on the PC then took the disc to the camera - then formatted it to the camera - and it began taking pics again - the only prb is when i go to get the pics off the floppy, the computer now cant see them and it tries to reformat the disk !I am thinking this camera is a piece of @#$@#*! I keep going round and round with this issue and hope one of you can help me out........pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee!! cam

I have SONY-shot camera that was functioning properly but now it is saying Reinsert the "Memory Stick" and it could work at all. It shows c:13:01 at the same time. How can I solve this problem, please?
