So, this problem will continue whether you use the FD or the MS? I think Sony should recall this camera, or all their cameras with a FD. This is not the first time the FD has died on me. It's much simplier to use a FD, because not all college students have access PC or LT of their own. The disk allowed greater flexibility. Guys, Today, 11/09/03, I got the same error code in my sony dsc f717, don't know what to do, my camera is basically new, is this a prolem with the Sony cameras in general? After I paid $1000 for this camera and now I cannot use it is not good at all. I wish I can send back to sony, so they can have a luch with this peace of junk!!!!! What pisses me off the most is that I am in Thailand, I need to take some pictures, but as I said the peace of junk is not working!!!! I have this error (C:13:01) with two separate 8MB sticks I have been carrying in my wallet, but the 32MB stick I usually use in my DSC-P31 works fine. Unfortunately, the bad memory sticks also stop the camera appearing in the list of removaeable devices, soi I can't reformat them. (Win2000, SP4) Thank you Deb, Following your advice, I formatted in the computer one of the discs that was giving me the C:13:01 error, and then it worked, and the other discs worked too. I can't believe it. I'm so relieved, because I thought the camera's drive was out of alignment. You are awsome. I was about ready to get rid of my camera becuase our sony service rep in Wichita told me it would be about a 150.00 repair. Thanks I use my Sony FDMavica at school daily, taking photos of my kindergarten students for a variety of educational purposes. After 2 years of excellent performance, I charged my battery one night and the next morning I got a blinking C:13:01 format error message!
