I'm also having the same problem. The lens will not retract and is just stuck in the extended position. I've tried all reformatting and initialization but nothing works. Please let me know the details on how I might be able to fix this. Thanks!

the two gears which allow the lens to run out and retract are rounded or damaged, so the gears are not meshing and operation is hindered. My question is do you have the part number or the part? the camera is a sony cybershot DSC-P8 with smart zoom. i myself can fix the camera but only with the part... i have only been only able to locate the spares in india, and when i called the local sony supplier they only provide the whole lens mechanism, at greater cost than a whole new camera.. Can you help me at all? thanks for your conceded time. if you do or can get the parts i am in Australia and postal code is 3030. chris.

I have a Sony DSC-P52 Cybershot camera. I did not drop it, get it wet, or anything. However, the lens shutter is stuck in half-open and when you turn the camera on, it displays an error message telling you to turn the camera off and then back on. Doing so fixes nothing, however, and the shutter clicks and moves, but remains half-open regardless of what you do. Can this be fixed? How?

Hi I am having the same problem as others, I dropped my Sony Cybershot DSC-P200 and the lense jammed. I tried to rectify the problem an the lense came out in my hands, it is still connected via an orange wire to the camera. Can this be fixed and for how much? Thank you in advance for your time and help Genene

I have the same problem like many others DSC-P200 owners. My sony DSC-P200 lens got stuck, it couldnt come out. When i tried to repair the problem I cracked the connection between lens and camera ... Please send me email on repairing the problem, I think it needs a new lens.

What's the Estimated cost to have a Sony DSC P10 (5.0 MP) with lens issue (can't seem to get set upon startup, chriing away for 30 seconds before it gives-up and says to re-start) repaired?
