Gloria Cauthorn - 29th Oct 2006 5:09 We have a Sony DSC -P200 digital camera and have damaged the LCD screen--dropped it. Everything else seems to work. Can we get this repaired, and how much will it cost? Where do we take it, or do we send it to someone? Thank you.

sebastiann - 30th Oct 2006 17:23 My sony cybershot dsc-w5 has the infamous turn the power off and on again problem now it has worked up before but that was more due to lax in battery stamina, but now on full batteries my camera will proudly protrude its lense to full length and when i turn it off it pretends to retract for a second but then changes its mind and sticks the lens out again. Aha fix this one

Hi;
My Sony camera has the exact same problem. Did you find a fix?
Thanks
Dwight

Had the same issue - found out on some forum that it was due to some dirt stuck in the opening gears that needed being dislodged by banging (not too hard!) a corner of the camera on a table - and it worked for me!
Good luck

This is not a joke........
Use a can of compressed air and blow around the lens while it is extended. Take a relatively firm approach with this problem slap the camera into your palm two or three times.
Not lens down in this case, but using the side or rear of the camera to make contact with your palm
Make sure you have the camera cord around your wrist so as not to lose it across the room.
Do this several times and turn it on and off till the message of tuen ona nd off no longer shows(if it ever did) and the lens retracts and works correctly. The compressed air will help remove any accumulated dust that is jambing the lens.
This is a sony tech fix and not a joke, they charge you $90 to do this and this fault is not uncommon in many of these small cameras
dust and dirt get taken into the lens bay ad eventually cause it to stick. Hence the use of comptressed air with the brutal approach

mathew - 1st Nov 2006 8:26 Do you fix the DSC-T1 model? I have 2 ones with what seems to be CCD problems, one is pink and one is distorted. I'd like to fix them both.

colin - 1st Nov 2006 17:29 Was wondering if anyone knew what the error code E-61:20 meant. It is a dsc-s40 camera and has caused no problems for the 8 months I have had it. I have extended warranty at best buy too and was wondering if anybody has dealt with them for returns or repairs.

I have a sony cybershot DSC-P93A. It is only about 1.5 years old. The flash has stopped working. I have gone through all the different trials including resetting the whole camera. Is this a common thing, like just a burned out bulb or something? Any idea the estimated cost to repair?

stephanie - 9th Nov 2006 2:41 I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-W5. It was hit against a bench, and the lens is now at an angle. So the lens won't go back in, and I can't take pictures or look at the ones I took. Is this going to be expensive to fix?
