Hello I'm from Cusco Peru (machupicchu) and I am really sad because I have a camera Sony SR87 with the same problem of white screen, it takes photos and record videos very well but i can't see anything in the LCD. I supose the way of fixing it uis the same of the S40 so please i will be really gratefull if you can help me with this problem...please could you send me the way of fixing at franco_dh@hotmail.com thank you very much...

I have to say that is the funniest thing ever! And the crazy thing is ... it works! I have a 4 megapixel - it's a great camera for the kids - and who knew? Thanks so much! We can now use it again! :)

SONY should have to fix this problem. thanks my daughters camera had been sitting for over a year with this problem, decide to google see if any fix's then i found this,it's working now. we gave the camera to the 7 yo grand daughter she is so happy to have her on camera!!!

What a splendid idea to get rid of such a serious problem as I was finding it really too difficult to use my Sony DSC-S40 with its white LCD for the last couple of months! We're back to 'kicking' technology, it did work though on my father's camera that I was going to give up on. Way to go!!! Lisa

So after all these technological advances, all I had to do was smack the thing...just like the old days. My camera came back to life like Lazarus; and yes, I cracked up!
