Bob ... your fix worked for me too ! Google search is a wonderful thing ;o) I was getting just as far as everyone else with Sony support. They sent me a link to the support site where I was greeted with the $111 service fee. Thanks again and Happy New Year!

Thank you very much Bob, I went through the same run-around with sony, new batteries, reset the camera, and nothing worked, and 4 days out of warranty, Needless to say, I was a bit annoyed, and wasn't about to pay $110 on a camera that retails only for $113. I was skeptical, but now, I'm a believer.

OMG!!! I can't believe that actually worked!! My camera 'died' on me a few days ago and I didn't think I'd have a camera for Christmas. I googled 'sony camera with white screen' and voila, I got an answer. I can't believe there was actually a fix for my particular camera - there is obviously a big fault. Thanks again!! Jen

After reading all the positive replies, I still wasn't convinced. But lo and behold, my camera is now back in working order!

Bob- I have to tell you...when I read your fix, I laughed. However, I had no plans on shelling out the $111 it was going to cost to send it to Sony so I figured I'd try it. My husband and I are now laughing because we are happy that our camera WORKS! Thanks so much for posting your fix. And thanks to the good people at Google for letting me find it.
