Help! Have GR-D73U which thinks the lens cap is on. Is there a fix for this? Does JVC cover this problem even if warranty is out? Thanks.

Hello, I am having the Lens Cap error as well, on model GR-D72, is this related to the similiar issue that many other people appear to be having? Please forward information on obtaining repair for this issue. Much appreciated!

hallo I have the same problem with my mini DV GR-D53E. The lens cap sign is on and it vil not record. The old tapes can stil be played. Can you help me to get et fixed. thanks Anders (denmark)

Hi, i had the same problem with my sony mini dv camcorder. the picture became fuzzy and blank but it will still record. Well, i found out thru sony that their is a image sensor problem and they will fix it for free thru sept 08. i sent the camcorder to sony free postage and now it works fine. I know that other companies with mini dv also have the same problem. check with your manufacturer.

WOW! It has been an issue for JVC Cameras for years! I just sent mine off to repair. I will see if I can report an update as JVC progress through this customer service issue : "The message "Lens Cap" appears when the camera is turned on, there is no image to see and it will not record, but the playback facility of old tapes still works fine." I never got to use my jvc mini dv gr.d33u it just whent black with lense cap flashing but the lense is not on though, please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
