Home | Previous messageI too am getting a E:61:00 error. Even though I wasted 100$ for repairs after a month or so its giving me the same error. I am just out of my mind to waste my money on further repairs. Can anybody tell me how to overcome this error if ever there was a chance to do it manually.

I have a SONY DSC-T10 where the lens would not come out. The banging works & i do not get the error. However the zoom still not works & if i try to zoom in i get the error back. On banging again the error goes back and i can click picture without zoom only. Please help! My problems is my SONY DSC-T7 that it haven´t any lense!!!!Somebody knows my camera? I can´t repair the camera with the solution you had given.PLEASE HELP ME Thanks for the advice: I gently tapped the lens flat down on the table and the message is gone and the pics are clear again. I just got this error this morning. So frustrating! I bought an extended warranty though so there is still one year left. Do you think they will try to fix it or replace it? Because my camera is pretty outdated (DSC W1) and I really wouldn't mind getting a new one. But if they are only going to "repair" it then I think it would be better just to use this method than have it gone for 2 months (or who knows how long) for repairs. Yes.. I also just tapped the lens with the nail twice to 3 times and the Error is gone.... It just works.... Lots of thanks - this is NOT a wind-up. I was on honeymoon with my new wife in Paris when her sony cybershot started giving this error. The lens wouldn't retract and the camera wouldn't focus. Using the reset button, replacing the batteries, etc. wouldn't work either. Reluctantly we concluded this had to be a hardware problem. So we googled E:61:00 and this was the first thread to come up. We thought it had to be a joke, but we were facing buying a new camera the next day so we had nothing to lose. IT WORKS!!! Just gently drop the camera a few centimetres onto a soft surface and it will jog the component into place. Ok, I found this thread and thought this must be some kind of hoax. But I had nothing to lose because either I pay big money to have the camera repaired or I whack it a few times. I was gentle at first and nothing happened. So I went for broke and whacked it HARD three times like I was hammering a nail. BINGO, I'm taking pictures of my kid's play tonight. I had the same problem since 6 month with E:61:00. So I was fed up with Sony repair service and started to google. What can I say, after I had found that unusual advice i tried this by my self. I slightly smashed the camera on my desk and what to say....it f..... works!!!!! Thanks a lot!!!!! So l had the same problem....and here l am reading the messages and laughing to myself. "Tickle the lense with a nail", "hit it with a hammer" and so on, great laughs! Then l figure, now mind you my wife saw the message and ok's me for a new camera, woo-hoo!, what the heck! So l bang 3(it seems like the common number) times on the table top. And just like all the others......it works!! Brilliant, I've just had the same problem with my ancient TRV15 analogue camcorder. Admittedly it did fall off a chair whilst in its bag by accident, but It would not auto-focus when the zoom was being used and this E:61:00 error kept appearing. All I did was apply slight pressure to the lens and this must have re-meshed the lens with the auto-focus drive motor. Sorted! |
