Ok, I found this thread and thought this must be some kind of hoax. But I had nothing to lose because either I pay big money to have the camera repaired or I whack it a few times. I was gentle at first and nothing happened. So I went for broke and whacked it HARD three times like I was hammering a nail. BINGO, I'm taking pictures of my kid's play tonight.
