Home | Previous messageI too am getting a E:61:00 error. Even though I wasted 100$ for repairs after a month or so its giving me the same error. I am just out of my mind to waste my money on further repairs. Can anybody tell me how to overcome this error if ever there was a chance to do it manually.

Es verdad, con solo un pequeño golpecito en seco funcionó, pensar que me hicieron ahorrar el tiempo de llevarla a arreglar la máqina y el dinero. muchas gracias. Honestly, when I started reading you guys just slammed your camera down a little and it worked I was like, whatever. But I tried it, and it works! Just a little, not too bad. Hi! Thanx for helping me feel asured that this failure easily could be fixed at home. I tried your way to fix the camera, to press the objektive while it was extending and to drop it to the floor several of times... this did not work. So for you that have tried this, but not succeed... there´s hope... 1. Open the camera by .."unscrewing" the small screws... hehe, excuse the language, i´m swedish... 2. Carefully pull the cover away from the inside part. You cannot take the front cover away totally, cause it is connected with the inside part with a wire... It´s the front side that is interesting though.... 3. Close to the objective (the round part) the is a little bow-shaped cover, whit two screws... Unscrew them and take the cover of... Inside you will find a bunch of very small geerwheels... Here is where the problem is... Try to spinn them gently, and blow and poke them a little... Then put the power on on the camera, and you will se them work there asses of... if they are all spinning, and the objektive is behaving normal again, the problem is solved... otherwise, try to help they function by poke them a little again, spinn them and push on the lens again.. 4. put the camera back to one piece... and voila!!! it´s working!!!! I hope this will work for you, it did for me... But be carefull so you don´t loose any parts... Cheers from Jenny, Västerås, Sweden. Well, damn fine advice. Turned the camera on this morning and found the E:16:00 message. Googled it, found this thread, fixed it within 3 minutes. Thanks! AMAZINGLY the ERROR went AWAY By Tapping over the lens using my CUPPED Palms. Thanks a lot to this FORUM for making my CAMERA Back to LIFE....... Regards, Veera I cant believe this. It worked. This is the third Cypershot camera that I own. My DSC-P100 gave me the same error and I had to pay $100 plus to have it repaired. My DSC-P200 just gave me the same error. I did two light taps with the lens open and it fixed its self. WHAT THE heck is SONY doing with these cameras. Hey SONY how about putting that in to your troubleshooting guide for error E:61:00...tap lens lightly while open...if that doesnt work try it again..... Just pisses me off sometimes. JT I CAN'T BELIEVE IT . . .I had the error code E:61:00 and took your advice and dropped it flat from a foot high onto my desk and the error code went away and my camera is fine and is able to focus again. I'm so glad. I was just about to purchase a new $350 camera! Thanks! Great advice! make sure you take the batteries out, drop the camera and then put the batteries back in... I tapped it, I blew into it, I prayed to digi-cam gods ... nothing worked. I tried several time... Then I dropped it. Now it works. For how long I don't know but one thing I'll complain! thanks for the advice !! it actually works ! I only blew on the lense and knocked it thats it ! thank you ! save me money and time |
