Home | Previous messageI too am getting a E:61:00 error. Even though I wasted 100$ for repairs after a month or so its giving me the same error. I am just out of my mind to waste my money on further repairs. Can anybody tell me how to overcome this error if ever there was a chance to do it manually.

I am getting the same error. In the past, it would go away after turning the camera on and off. Not anymore. Did you find any help? Thanks, Dan I DO NOT KNOW WHO SUGGESTED DROPPING THE CAMERA FROM 1-2 FEET TO LAND ON A WOOD TABLE TO RID THE CAMERA OF THE ERROR CODE E:61:00 BUT IT WORKED FOR MY SONY CYBER-SHOT ALSO. I DROPPED MINE FROM 1.0 TO 1.5 FEET TO MY KITCHEN TABLE AND THE ERROR CODE WENT AWAY INSTANTLY. TO EARLY TO TELL IF IT WILL COME BACK OR NOT. OMG! I'm in Venice and the worst time to lose use of my camera. I looked up E61 and literally whacked the lense that refused to close. It totally worked. Amazing!!!! J we were afraid to drop the cam! are you sure it works?? ha? I can't believe it actually worked! I'm amazed! I rapped it softly on the table a couple of times and it still displayed the error message. I dropped it on the carpet from about 1 1/2 feet and still had the error, so I threw it at the carpet while sitting on my couch, turned it on and guess what, the error was gone and everything works great now! Unbelievable! Ok so i read all the advice on voiding my warrenty by smashing up the camera, was about to try it and... it now works fine. i think thats funny. gorgeous - incredible - heavenly ...it really works!!! :) and we all f**k the sony support and save our money - that´s anachy ;) doesnt work for me :( Thanks!!!!! The drop test worked for worked for me too! I took out the battery and droped the SONY DSC-P3 on to the floor (carpet @ about 2FT). It works! It realy worked!!! Many thanks - lens was stuck out and E61 came up occasionally so I gave the lens a sharp bash directly down onto a table top and problem appears to have gone. |
