Hey, I have the exact same problem, I was wondering if you fixed yours and how... Thanks, sony stuff r easy to repair.. haha.. just give 2 taps.. or 3.. like u one.. on the metal thin.. the thiner metal.. just give 2 taps.. and it will work ^_^ it worked for me +) sup ppl.. u guys relaly getting that problem?! well just take ur camera.. this way... =====o== u looking from up to down.. and just give 2 gentle hit.. dry but gentle.. and u will see the results.. it worked with me ^^ now i m so happy haha~ ^^ I got this error on my beloved P50 three years ago (in 2002) and gave up trying to fix it. Eventually, I bought a new camera. Today, just for grins, I googled the error and found this page. I followed the whack method first whacking with my hand, then holding the camera firmly and hitting the base flat against a soft cover book. The first whack did nothing. The second caused the disply to go blank. When I turned it on again, I got a 'boot' screen and then the camera started to function normally! Wow! I thought I'd deep sixed the camera for good. Thanks to everyone in this forum for helping me out. This made my day! we specailize on Sony camera and camcorder repair and down to earth prices..Drop us an e-mail alamoav@yahoo.com Hoorah, Error e:61:10 solved, took quite a few hits, first on mouse mat then on table, then i thought i had fixed it by hitting base on hand. but no only true fixed after a throw to the carpeted floor which ricocheted onto a bed post!! This not-so-nice method works... My boyfriend owns a DSCF-707 and I'm always borrowing it ... but I accidentally dropped it (from a distance about a meter high). The E:61:10 error appeared!! I was terrified. Google then took me here. For me, the final solution was hitting the camera on the side of the barrel against a wood table, quite hard but still carefully... but before doing that, I had to read a loooot of these posts and experiment sooo many different ways of hitting the poor camera. It's scary!! But the camera is working fine now. (Hope my boyfriend doesn't find this site... as you can imagine, if the problem is solved now, of course I won't tell him what happended!) I have a Sony DSC P51 and when i picked it up the other day it was flashing e::61:10 and my zoom dosnt work if any one knows how to fix this or even what it means please let me know I have a sony cybershot dsc-p52, I had the same error and smacked it a couple times on the back left edge while it was off, now it works! Thank you for the info. Now I have a 2nd dsc-p52 with a different issue, the lens cover jams and just makes a grinding sound when you turn it on. Any ideas on how to fix this? Yes..you must have banged it on something..or the weather messed with it. All I know is that I had mine in my coat and when I went to show this dude it.. it had that error too! I think the zoom or focus is/was stuck. Ok so I read all the postings in the world and you have two choices. Either send it to a repair shop..which will take forever + $$$$ and they cant promise it will stay "working...OR just bang it Gently on the wall. I chose the banging method and sure enough after a few bangs..IT WORKS!!! So don't send it out..just bang it gently..I tried a few times while it was off and it went away and came back then it worked but the focus was like stuck out still...so I tried the banging method while it was on and it worked! I just held the strap and let it dangle and tapped it against the wall gently. Let me know if it works...I'm curious.... GOOD LUCK!!! -JACK(Boston) |
