The "whack method" saved the day while in Perth, Australia. Now what's a smart price for a new 717?

I don't want you to get alarm, but, muy camera has also these letters E:61:10 and I wanteted to know why was it. So, I serched in the ned and I find a person which happens the same and that in the shop they tell it it was because inside the camera the found sand and the cost to repare your camera will be similar to the cost you pay for buying it. I have the same problem than you and I don't know really what to do because I love my camera but I think the cost to repare these problem its a little bit expensive. I'm soory. But, the best thing you ca

Oh man I was way too scared to drop my camera or smack it on something too hard.. So I slapped it on my hand - not very hard, and only once - and now it works perfectly :-) I was so amazed, whoever thought of that, I would totally buy a pint. Thanks heaps! I was getting rather distressed - already have to send my SLR away, didn't want to have to send my DCR-SR85 as well!!
