Same problem..we laughed at the response because its ridiculous..then because it was the only option tried it and IT WORKED! Still laughing because its the stupidest thing you'd do to a expensive camera! Holy Cow!!! It worked for me as well! I just smacked it harder and harder until when I turned it on it was working. Start with a moderate slap and then turn it on. If error code is still there turn it off smack it a bit harder and turn it back on again until problem is solved. I just received in the mail yesterday detailed skamatics, wireing diagrams and everything you would ever need to know about these series of cameras. I have not even had a chance to look this code up but I'm sure it would not list the Fonz method in there. I'm going to go home and look it up and see what it says though out of curiosity. Plus, I have 2 T1's. On one the flash does not work, on the other the lcd does not work. I am going to take both of them apart and get one working completely. Tim. I have a Sony DSC-P52. After I dropped it from about 50cm it started showing the E:61:10 error and both the focus and zoom do not work. When I try to use the zoom, the lens does not move but I can hear a motor moving inside. I tried the smacking method many times and in various ways but with no luck. Though I haven't taken it to Sony service yet I understand that this will be costy. So I am tempted to open it and try to fix it myself. Has anyone done this before with this model? Any advice? yep worked for me to. It took a few slams but then it worked. I would suggest slaming it down on the table on the bottom. dont slam the side with the LCD display or the battery side just straight down on the underside should do it. Or you could go to your local sony store and pay a spotty teenage jobsworth to take it into the back room and do it himself. thanks for the advice. Gotta hit it hard guys!!!! real hard against a book worked for me!!!! Hey guys thanks for posting the banging and bashing method :-) it worked for me. Happy New Year from the Philippines!!! Add me to the rather long list of people who had the unlikely success with a 'couple of good smacks' remedy! I can't believe this worked! Yeah, it worked. I "Fonzie"'d it. Two raps on the top, bottom, and front where the tape sits in the machine. Never had a problem until recently, but seems to solve the problem. Wow! Sony wanted $211.00 to fix my camara (DCR-HC30) and I gave it a good smack on the side of the barrel and now it works fine. You are a genius hey yeah i have a Sony too it does that sometimes too. Error 61. I found if u warm it up it works agian. Not too sure what the error really means as i lost my guide book. just make sure its really warm and it should work again. like body temp. good luck !!! |
