Woohoo! One week ago my DCR PC-109 displayed the message E:61:00, I tried the smacking method while the camera was on (the focus had gone on vacation, it jumped between completely blurry to normal then back to blurry), I gave it 3 gentle clapses and TADAAA! It works perfectly again. ^^ Thanks for the help :D Hi all, I have a Sony DSC-S85 camera that lately was giving me a "lens cap attached" error message even though the lens cap was off....thus rendering the camera inoperable. For the last two nights I have been on the phone with Sony who basically said I had to take it to a service center, and the cheapest one I found charged 181 to fix it. Well, I also spent the last two nights searching the Inet for a solution and came across this forum. WHat I read was basically, "give the camera a couple of good hard whacks" and you know what? IT WORKED! With the camera off, and the lens pointing down into my open left hand I struck the viewscreen twice with my right hand (open faced) pretty hard. Powered the camera on and instantly heard the lens push out and I knew the error was fixed. Perfect solution. Casey awesome guys ,,,,,,,,,,,,,this technique works fine for me as well.....But sony is crap I have the dsc707 unpacked my camera after passing through customs dreaded e:61:10 checked this site, 2 wacks with knuckles at magic it worked thanks guys I have the same problem with the camera How can I clear the code and get use of the camera again? Thanks Unbelieveble! It seems that a lot of people over the last four (!) years or so have been helped by this thread! So was I today. I thought the camera (I have a pretty old DSC-F505V) was really badly broken and the manual made it pretty clear that the error could only be fixed by an authorized service. But I gently hit the camera against my hand - and that was enough to make it all fit for fight again! Thanks whoever found this out! =) 3 smacks also work! YEAH I own a DSC-S50, I live in spain and I carry it all the time. Yesterday the anoying e:61:10 apperead on the screen. How can I solve this problem? With two good whacks! Add me to the list of successful whackers. My Cybershot T1 started flashing the E:61:10 message, the focus was gone and zoom sticky. I found this website took the advice and whacked the camera. It didn't work but I got creative and kept trying... bounced it off my desk, threw it at a book, banged it on my knee. Finally when I held it firmly and smacked it down on a book pretty darn hard, it all came right. Thank you everyone for convincing me this is the way to fix the problem. I have a DSC-T33 and mine had the E:61:10 error and I searched google for "sony dsc-t33 e:61:10" and I found this site. I tried the infamous "smacking method" and after about 3 or 4 times of smacking it and turning it off and on, it finally fixed it! Just keep smacking til you get it - these DSC-T33's are pretty tough. Thanks guys for the tip! |
