My KP-53HS10 went dead and I'm looking to repair it. I've been told it's the transformer, but would love to have the manual to try and fix it/buy parts. Any help is appreciated, Thanks!!

I have the same problems. I purchased my set in 2000. I have always noticed the stanby light flashing but never knew what it meant. The last week or so my kids were complaining that the screen would flash to black and then come back. Now I have no picture. The set turns on and I have sound, but there is no picture. I can't find the literature that came with the set. Can I fix this or do I need to buy a new set. Can someone who knows TVs please respond. Thanks

If you are still interested in selling your sony for parts, I might like a couple of them. I have the same model, and I need the front screens and the rear mirror. If so, please let me know how much you would like to sell them for. Thank you in advance for your time and efforts.

I have the same problem with my Sony 53". I had a tech look at it and he tells me its the main board. However, it sounds like the transformer from viewing on these posts. Can you please email me the manual for KP53HS10 TV? My email is charlotte@nvalentin.dk. Thanks so much.

I would love a copy of the manual. My Sony loses picture and blinks and service code every few hours.

    Thanks!

To all who have the 5 blinks, pic goes black with sound and pic flashing: this is the famed AKB error that all SONY's have. The Automatic Kine Bias Circuit (AKB) is part of the self-diagnostic mode for the set. A flashing picture with the 5 blinks associated with it can be solved by turning the screen voltage up slightly. You will pull off the front cover to reveal the speakers and the control panel. Remove the 4 screws that secure the center control panel. Next remove the 6 screws for the service panel. Pull slightly forward and up and remove the service panel from behind the control panel. The control panel has 4 plastic stand-offs that hold it center into the TV frame and the service panel cover. To the right of the control panel after the service cover is removed you will see a block with 6 adjustments. The top 3 are the screen control and the bottom are the focus. DO NOT TOUCH THE FOCUS!. The problem with the sets seems to be the Red tube gets weak. The controls from left to right are: Red, Green, Blue (same for the focus). There will be white paint on them tha will be broken off during adjustment. Trunig left will cause cut-off and right will cause brighter screen. With the set on an input with nothing on, first try the red (move it slowly till you can see red in pic). Try this on blue if red has no effect. Do nor move it very far or bad color will result. This will resolve 90% of the AKB error issues. Emailing the manual is hard due to it being 24mb in size.

I have the sony kp53hs10 that keeps intermitantly losing color. The screen goes to black & white. Also the color gets sort of lost or washed out every so often. Anyone have this problem or know if it is worth fixing.

Please send a copy of the repair manual. Timer/ Standby light blinks continuously. If anyone have figured this problem out any information would be helpful. Thank you so much for your time in this matter.
