Home | Previous messageHad the same error message on my TRV-720, and could not come up with a solution for weeks until I found this website: http://www.protechcam.com/wwwboard/messages/127.html Now the fix you will not believe, nor did I at first, but requires you to power off the unit completely and "Smack it" a few times fairly hard. Now you may do this at your risk, but I swear it fixed mine and all the other people listed at the above web site. I thought it was a joke - but it works!! Good Luck! TJR

hi guys. bad news. this kind of fixing is not working on the sony hc1. i tryed 2 hours. still shit Another convert in London UK here - I can't really believe it but it does work - this after missing some really cute family moments while my Sony DCR PC101E has been unoperable for the last month I've just fixed it with 2 slaps!. Thank you all! At first I thought I was in real trouble. When I googled C:31:22 and saw these suggestions I had a pretty good laugh but tried it anyway. I gave it 3 hard licks on each side of the camera an Viola! Good as new. Yeah I read what my TRV-280's manual said and its Clean the heads with a 8'mm cleaning tape after "Gently but firmly tapping the bottom of the unit". OMG it worked! The code means that the heads are dirty it works!! thanx!! Holy shit it worked i cant believe it. I have been messing with it for hours. And never thought to try it. Thanks for it. This isn't working for me!! How are you supposed to do this? Is the battery supposed to be off? Is the tape supposed to be in? What are you supposed to do, and HOW HARD are you supposed to hit it? Yeah, I didn't believe it too but after reading a few messages I tried it.... IT WORKS!!! well what do you know. It is actually the contacts between the guide and the metal body inside. when the case is closed, the swith is supposed to be activated. proper misalignment will cause the circuit to break and an error occurs. So pounding might only cause the connector to be aligned again or something. Anyway, it was lucky it worked. To prevent, load tape slowly. wait untuil th tape fully stop before removing the tape. never, never drop or bang the cam on the table etc. When in the bag, careful not to jolt it. use heavily padded bag. Wow it works THANKS, |
