Home | Previous messageHad the same error message on my TRV-720, and could not come up with a solution for weeks until I found this website: http://www.protechcam.com/wwwboard/messages/127.html Now the fix you will not believe, nor did I at first, but requires you to power off the unit completely and "Smack it" a few times fairly hard. Now you may do this at your risk, but I swear it fixed mine and all the other people listed at the above web site. I thought it was a joke - but it works!! Good Luck! TJR

I Don't know how to thank you enough !! The smacking action REALLY WORKED !! I'm a computer engineer, i thought this was total crap and would never work, but Sony keeps surprising you, I Owe you my friend, because the SONY ppl over here failed to fix it !!!! Anyone who faces the same problem, remove the battery, then tap the camera gently on the 4 sides 2 or 3 times, (with the tape inside or outside), insert the battery again, and there u go !! very cool! it works i have a Dcr HC 35 I just used this on my TRV22 and it works! And it makes me think of this story: Several years ago, a friend asked me to help her with her broken camcorder, a Sony Video 8 model. It wouldn't turn on or eject, and I couldn't fix it. A few days later, she told me it "fixed" itself after she dropped it down the stairs in her house. Thanks for this great tip! This "smacking" approach worked for me too! I was so impressed, I tried this on my wife. A couple of smacks and all the error messages went away. Amazing ... This works. Holy cow! It worked, just like everyone else, I thought--hit it a few times? OMG In my whole 7 years learning Electric Electronis Engineering i would never have approved this 'smacking your electronic devices' method. But i was desperate so i tried it out after 15 minutes of swearing.IT WORKED!!!!(I'm using Sony TRV418E and it gave the C:31:22 error) IT WORKS TRV280..........FUNNY BUT IT WORS!!!!!!!! I had a C:31:10 error and I figured smacking it was worth a try if it fixed the C:31:22 errors. Couldn't hurt, right? And it totally worked. Laughed so hard I almost fell out of my chair! I had the same problem with my 560x handycam and the smacking is what it needed. Thanks everyone. |
