I have a JVC GR-DVF31. I am getting the Error Code of E04 and would like to know what the code means, what type of repair is required, and the approximate cost of this repair? Are there any options I can do to fix the camcorder? Thanks I've received an E04 code on my camera. I would like to try a tape manufactured by a different company, or even to clean the heads. The problem is that I can't even get the tape out of the machine, as the ejection mechanism doesn't work. If you could suggest a way to remove the tape, I would be happy to try some other things. hello, I have a JVC GR-DVM50 and it comes up with the error code E04 anytime i try to do anything. any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated Hi, I have a JVC GR-DVX9 Digital Video Camrea that has started to give an error code intermitantly, "E04 Unit in safeguard mode, remove and reattach battery". This sometimes works and sometimes does not! Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Ashley i have a jvc gr-dvf21 camcorder....everything is ok...screen works, records, no probs...except one.....the displays on the screen dont show up; they dont show in the eyepiece either...no 'play' or 'ff' or battery strength displays...is there a way to repair this, or some sort of 'soft reset' button or combination of buttons that will reset it? I bougth my JVC camera not much more than a year ago. The model is GR-DVL220u and now that I tried to use it I get an error message. E04 is what come out in the screen telling me to eject and re-insert tape, the problem with doing this is that the tape seems to be jammed. Everytime I try to open in that litte noise that told me the disk is ejecting comes ou, but the tape wont budge. Im thinking of taking it to a local place to see if someone can fix it.
