HomeTo fix problem E:61:00, with sony cybershot 7.2 megapixels p 200. one evening i switched on my Sony cybershot 7.2 mp p200 and E:61:00 started flashing on the screen. after a while I got worried and swicthed it off, but the lens would'nt go in, as it usually does. when i switched it on again, it said turn off and on power again. I switched off and on for millions of times. I also tried to charge it, took of the memory card, tried to connect it to my laptop, deleted a few pictures of the memory card(to check if the fault was because of no space in memory card or something). but unfortunately nothing worked. then i looked at the '2meter drop' solution. though i was very afraid to do it, I dropped it from a little height on my thick carpet. it didnt work. then, I pressed the lens back in forcefully, pressed the back of LCD screen with my palm 2-3 times. I switched the power on. YAY it worked this time. its such a relief. must try this. thanks for advice folks.

OH MY GOSH! I was reading your post and I was desperate so I decided to try it. I felt so stupid dropping it twice and then pushing on the LED screen. AND IT WORKED! Thanks sooo much! Strangely enough, i did the same thing and my camera now works. Thanks for that x it didn`t work for me... i have pushed the lens in, dropped the camera, tried the website solution... Nothing works!!!! When I try the website solution I can get it to work, but still with the E:61:00 message and no focus... That`s the best I get from my sony right know... I might try dropping it from a higher place or something... But i thing my cam is the only one with no possible recovery... It worked- Genious! so how do you fix this step by step I just had the same prob and came across this site... who knew that dropping it would make it work again! It was worth the shot since it was already 'broken'. Thanks!!! i have a SONY cybershot w-50, when i turn on, it´s show this message Turn on and off the power again,. tried everything, delete pics, change battery, reset the cam. On and off over and over again. I even forced the zoom back in - but to no avail. When I forcefully pushed the zoom back in and pushed on the LCD screen like you said and drop the cam in the carpet, e turn on, it is work, :D Thank you so much. This forum is excellent!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! worked for me too from about 3 feet onto carpet! I had the same problem, so my husband goes online and googles "turn power off and then on again" and came up w/ this website, so he figured why not give it a try the camera is broken already, so he drops it to the floor and couldn't believe his eyes when that message didn't pop up again. Unbelieveable. Sony told me it was going to cost $180 to fix it and the solution was here all along. Thanks to all of you with the same problem. I cant freaking believe it. Push the lens back in and drop it from about 6-7 feet on carpet. AMAZING. |
