    SONY DSCF717 CCD DAMAGED

     Claudio Posted Feb 26, 2006

My name is Claudio Esteras, I`m an architect and live in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I want to tell you, after a month dealing with SONY ARGENTINA and with the authorized technical service to get they recognized the free repairmen of my F 717 because the CCD failure, I decide to write an email to SONY JAPAN. I left pass five days and without any answer, I decide to write other email directly to the Japanese who have received the first email; after a week SONY ARGENTINA sent me an email offering to take my camera to their own technical service. I did it a week ago and yesterday they informed me they will repair my camera free of charge and I must wait one or two week because they have not the device and are waiting for the supply which is coming from overseas. Finally I happily must say I got it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I have sent my camera back to Sony with a copy of the purchase order and guarantee (even if it is expired , it does not matter). They´ve checked the overall condition of the camera (if there was no damage that could justify the problem)and , after 1 week, they´ve informed me that would repair the camera "free of charge". After this week, I had to wait 3 more weeks to have my camera repaired. It is with me now, without any problem, working perfectly. Best Regards, Marcelo Frota Niterói- Rio de Janeiro Brazil
