i worked in sony service for 20 years, going back to 82. when i came on they still made the best consumer products. but they dropped quality control and went for mass production. let the service centers take the heat for piss poor products. that SAVA was a piece of crap. i cringed every time i saw 1 come in.
but ive had good luck with the products ive bought over the years. still have em all. however, they come from they that earlier generation that was built to last. gary

That is why I didn't purchase an extended warranty on any of them. Last I knew, they were really good products and I didn't think I'd need one. Boy was I wrong! lol I wish AIWA made more products because I have an old AIWA system hooked up to a 12 year old Magnavox TV in my bedroom that sounds just as good as if it were new. I love it. It and the TV both have been through several moves and both still work great.
Anyway, thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one whose opinion of Sony has changed.
