HomePlease Help! Hi. One day while my system was on, but in standby mode, I heard a popping sound from behind the control speaker. When I went to investigate, there was an "electrical smell" coming from behind it. I'm not sure the technical term, but it's a distinct odor. It will now power up, but has no sound. Does anyone know what might be wrong and is it possible for me to fix it myself? Thanks in advance, Jackie

I fixed a lot of those SAVA units. in every case of dislay on but no sound it was a semi conductor. power amps are prime suspect. the SAVA500 can be grins and giggles to dis-assemble..........luck. My LCD Screen is out and I wanted to know how can I fix this Sounds to me like a capacitor blew or you just fried the main amplifier board. I had a similar problem with an aiwa A/V receiver, and it was basially done and I had to buy a new receiver. |
