Re: Sony Trinitron TVs

Dan Posted Aug 07, 2009, in response to:anonymous

I am having the same problem as everyone else. Please, someone tell me that Sony takes this problem seriously. I have a Sony WEGA Trinitron KV-36HS510. It was working fine this morning. Went for a few hours came back to turn the set on and nothing. The 'Stand-By' flashes 7 times. I have read everything from unplugging the set for 24hrs to replacing the High Voltage Box (?). Who knows? Has Sony responded to anyone? Thanks.

In reply to Dan. Seven blinks is the Voltage Regulator and another part that has to be replaced according to two local repair technicians. I had the same problem and replaced the Sony with a 40" Samsung. (bigger screen and less money that the original cost of the Sony) I feared that spending $400 to fix the Sony wasn't worth it because something else may break down in the near future.
