Sony won't fix it for free if they are getting paid to!! I have had my Cybershot DSC-P30 for over 7 years and it has worked perfectly up until now. It even was in the car when we had a head on car collision. A piece by the click button came off but it still worked perfectly. This trick worked after I hit it on my rug (my knee must not have been hard enough). It did start making a whirring noise when it is on but...it is taking pics again and I can live with that! Thanks Pepito, the advice might be 3 years old but it still works!
