I also have a sony KV-32S40 and it's experiencing the same blinking problem with the screen. What a shame, thought Sony's were good TV's In reading these posts, I have changed my mind. I will try and solder the connection on the V-hold (never liked working on TV's with 20kV on the picture tube). I even went to sony's web site and nothing on a very well known problem.
