Just wanted to say thanks for the tip, worked a treat. Ive got a DCR-DVD106 with the same error code. Gave it an initial bang, that didn't work, whacked it a few more times to no avail. Got a litte more adventurous (thought if it's broken it's not going to get anymore broken) and dropped it a few inches into my kitchen worktop on each side and what do you know - fixed! Thanks again.
