same problem with sony trinitron model kv-32s26 (1998). tv was on, left the room for 20min, came back in and it was "dead". will not power up..nothing.

Same thing happened to me on the 23rd. TV shut off. Cable box and DVD were fine. I have had TV for 8 or 9 years without any problems.
