I tried to convert some movies with AMVTool_4.0, and I had the same problem as you ,the problem is in the video size, it supports only (128X128 and 160X120). But when I did that with AMVTool_3.57 which supports (128X96 and 96X96)everything was OK; I used 128X96 because the original movie in my player is the same resolution. Then I copied the converted movie to my player and it was played from beginning to end with no problems.
