Re[2]: Sony DSC MVC camera repairs

Alex Posted Nov 15, 2005, in response to:Andrew B

When a battery is bad, it actually shows full charge when charged, but discharges quickly. I suggest to try it with known good battery or just buy a new one. If that still doesn't help, please get back to me.

I have had this problem with my dsc-p5 also. I have 3 different batteries (2 sony and 1 energizer). I get about 3 pictures before the low battery light blinks and shuts off. But I can turn the camera on and take 3 more pictures..., this continues until I turn the camera on and it shuts off immediately or I can't turn the camera on. I have a battery charger that I stopped using because I thought it might not be charging the batteries properly so I have been charging the batteries in the camera but still have the same result. I find it hard to believe that I have 3 bad batteries. I have also heard that this is a documented problem with this camera but can't seem it find any info. when I google. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? I love this camera but have been looking into getting a new one, wish I didn't have to though. Thanks!
