Homei want to know about the problem which i am facing through out a year of getting no display picture hi this is pawan writing to you. i ve a digital camera model sony dsc-f717. this is very good camera. but i m getting some problem with it. there is no dispaly in the camera. i mean the display which is come out from lens. means the dispaly of shooting is not coming rest display of inbild camera function is ok. only the display for shoot is not coming. and the display screen is blank black. i saw it to in sony service station the are not sure bout the problem and giving me a high quate for repairing. as per there openiun the image ics of the camera are ve some problem. what should i do. pls give me a advice.

I have the same problem with my DSC-F717 I visited the SONY website for support and apparently they will repair it for free and they will pay for the shipping. They give you a phone number to inquire about it. I still have to call. I am having the same problem with my F717, did anyone find a solution for it? Sony DSC-F717 has a problem in CCD. Sony does not supply the CCD which is inexpensive. But they supply only the whole Lens assy.which is not economical to replace. the only other alternative is to use the CCD used in Nikon coolpix 5700 Model. Nikon dealers do not co operate in supply of spares. You may take this failure with Sony through their website http://www.sony.com Hello Pawan I am Dr.Ramakrishna, I also had problems with the 717. I bought it an year ago. we bought 3 peices of 717 and all the 3 cameras are under the same problem, no display transfer from thge lens. as i reviewed the literature and did an R&D we have come to a conclusion that the 717 is afailure model and has problems with the CCD and it was discontinued. The 707 its preceedor was a better model. I suggest you go in for a nikon digital series and dont think of repairing it. Actually sony people in the showrooms are very underknowledged about the products. they only market. I thought i will m ail you as you are also havinmg the same problem.
