Hello Pawan I am Dr.Ramakrishna, I also had problems with the 717. I bought it an year ago. we bought 3 peices of 717 and all the 3 cameras are under the same problem, no display transfer from thge lens. as i reviewed the literature and did an R&D we have come to a conclusion that the 717 is afailure model and has problems with the CCD and it was discontinued. The 707 its preceedor was a better model. I suggest you go in for a nikon digital series and dont think of repairing it. Actually sony people in the showrooms are very underknowledged about the products. they only market. I thought i will m ail you as you are also havinmg the same problem.
