condensation please wait...
hi, i've had the same problem only my camcorder is a gr-d20e but i guess it will work for you too...
you have to reset your camcorder by opening it and to unplug a "cable" at the back near the record button. (it's about the only cable you can unplug) (i've had the cable out for a while but i don't think this matters)
*note* the small screws are different in sizes so remember/draw where they came from
put it all back and your camera should work again. (for how long is the question???)
the JVC helpdesk isn't helpfull either (the belgian one)
hope this works for you
grtz, TaZo

Well im having the same problem , i have read all kinds of diff forums trying to get a clue to why this is doing this , anyway to cut the drama i was cking it out take the tape out leave it open remove the battery for a while still condensation error , so i was kinda shaking the cam in my hand heard something rattling inside ok maybe something is inside forein object ,, who knows well i opened up every area i could to try to shake out whaever was inside , still nothing so i started taking out scews when i noticed where the lcd screen hinges to and bottom at where it lays into place the screws were missing so finally one screw came out on my desk and i took the cover loose on top of the lense so i was still trying to shake this out then as i was looking the other screw was stuck on the lense assembly , so anyway i put the scews back all the others i could see and i could get to to tighten was really loose so after about 30 minutes of fooling with this i rebooted the cam and after 2 days of error message the cam is up and running fine so far , yikes , hopefully
who knows hope this helps someone

- Re[2]: JVC GR-D90u Condensation Error
JB38 - 3rd Aug 2008 15:43 Although cleaning the dew sensor in many cases will give a temporary cure to the problem, the fault will return in about 80% of the camcorders that has experienced the problem, with the only permanent cure being to disable the sensor.
This should "never" be attempted by anyone not acquaint at working with small precision pieces of equipment, and possession of a "quality" low voltage needle pointed soldering iron can be considered an essential.
Full details can only be sent to a DIRECT e-mail address, as the info is complex and contains JPEG (approx 10) attachments.

jb38 - 12th Sep 2008 9:55 Full details regarding the initial dew sensor cleaning procedure will be sent via DIRECT e-mail, plus if this fails the disabling info.
It should however be emphasised that this should only be attempted by people acquaint at working with small precision pieces of equipment, as although its not necessarily a "high tech" job it does require care in its operation.
PLEASE NOTE!! Anyone that may be reading this and requires similar info please request it on "Post new message" at the top of each page, as it will not be seen if added to the heading of this posting due to it appearing as of date as far as the main screen is concerned.

tolakos Ellin - 18th Nov 2008 10:57 I would like to thank Tazo for his helpful directions. I own a Jvc grd20 videocam for about 5 years, i change last year the CCD after is dead, i pay 100 Euros on service, after awhile i get the E02 and E04 messages (to fix those errors i used a cleaning tape for a few times and only maxell or panasonic tapes which are very good in quality) and a few days now the condensation error. I followed Tazo's instructions especially the suggestion for the diagram note for the screws, i unplugged three connections on my camera, first on back of the battery chamber, second the microphone's plug and finally the big white cable which separates the camera in two individual pieces. I try to tighten all screws inside the camera and in my surprise some of them were very loose. I did some cleaning with a soft cloth and use some alcohol in a few parts, but very carefully not to erase part numbers. I let the camera open for half hour and then i put all parts back together. That's it. Today is the 3d day and camera works perfect, even better than before. I suggest to you all try it without delays, the solution (i believe) is on camera's reset. Again THANKS Tazo, be well my friend, you saved me for buying a new camera (for now)!

jb38 - 18th Nov 2008 14:03 I would be pleased to send on the info to anyone that requests it, however it can only go to a DIRECT e-mail address as it contains JPEG's for illustration purposes, so anyone that selects to restrict their e-mail address effectively stops the info from being sent.
