Help with unique flat-panel monitors

Sergio Posted Nov 24, 2004

Need information on dual flat-screen monitors apparently manufactured by Bloomberg.

I recently received a dual, flat-screen monitor from a friend, and I'd like to know if I can use it/them with my computer. They're basically two 14" monitors, both mounted to a base, which has four lights at the bottom front (Num, Caps, Scroll, Power). The monitors have "Bloomberg" stamped on them as if they're the manufacturer, but I couldn't find anything on their site (they seem to be a financial company). Biggest problem currently though, is that I can't seem to find a way to power these monitors up. There are basically 2 cables coming out from the rear of the stand. One cable (small) goes to a splitter, from where I get 4 other cables - 2 keyboard and 2 mouse cables. All this/these cables are in 1 piece, so I can't pull them apart. The end of the other cable splits into 2 monitor and one 1/8" audio cables, each of which are also connected by a small cable to a jack that looks like a MIDI cable. That's it. Each monitor has a regular monitor cable going to it, and nothing else. Seems the manufacturer is "Bloomberg L.P." and the model is "Flat Panel (FP-3)" and power intake is "+12VDC 2.0A" I've surfed the net for any information, but no luck. They seem to have been manufactured on Dec. 20, 1999. Anybody have any ideas how I can power these monitors up? They each have a power button in the back, and 2 brightness buttons (+ and -). Thank you for all your help. P.S. Let me know if you need any other information.

I am in the same postion that you are in. I also have 2 Bloomberg monders with no power supply, and when I read that you had the same problem and have not found an anser yet, I deceded to take an ohm meeter to them an dope out what I could figer out, And Gess What. I am using one of those moders to type out this messeg. Hears the Deal. That 5 pin Din (same as a MIDI conecter) is the whay it gets Powered. If you Count the pins that come off the cable to the moniders from Left to Right (Left being pin 1, Right being pin 5 and lower midal pin being 3). You can take an old computer power supply or a Disk drive power supply and Din coneter and a soldering Iren and get these moniders up in less the 30mins. So hears how you Wire it: pin 1) +12 volts to Monider B pin 2) +12 volts to Monider A pin 3) Ground pin 4) Ground pin 5) Ground Note there is no 5volt line So it makes is so simple. Also Note: if your not shore whitch pins are witch. Take an ohm meater out and make shore there are no shorts between pins. it there are, then thay would be pits 3 and 2. I hope you have as mutshluck,
